Here's another print, but this time I went in with gouache and painted her face a bit. Sad little Victorian child. Why did they always look so desperately unhappy? Was it the itchy lace knickers?
This one also has some Chine Collé, (also known as Bits of Paper Glued To the Big Piece of Paper) - I had done a project where I silkscreened bikes onto rice paper and used that for bits of color.

I took a printmaking class a couple weeks ago. It was super interesting, the funny thing was that I had no idea what I was signing up for. I just knew I wanted to take a class of some kind, and I've always been very interested in the various printmaking processes. This particular one was copper plate etching with Japanese Paper Chine Collé. Huh? Yeah. So we etched plates, we glued very thin paper onto other paper. We printed. We rejoiced.
I wasn't particularly enamored with my drawing, but by the time I realized that it was too late - acid etched drawing into copper! Doh. Next time I will spend more time on the drawing part, but for my first time, it was a fun experiment.
Here's a photo of my plate.
